Harpsichord

In Toronto, Canada, I am known more on piano and toy piano, in Amsterdam I am known more at a harpsichord. Neither fits fully as I feel a strong connection to both instruments for very different reasons. I am also always seeking out any other (keyboard) instruments that can expand the range of sounds I can create and the types of music I can play: melodica, celeste, clavichord, fortepiano…

I found a connection with contemporary classical music early on in my studies and it’s been a relationship that seems to be lasting. I generally have a strong affinity for complex music, but I enjoy any music that allows (or forces) me to explore, think, feel, question, analyse, or reconsider my surroundings and any preconceived ideas I might have had about them. With a curiosity, openness and maybe a sense of humour, I hope to allow an audience to also find a similar excitement and joy of working through this type of journey.
